To be a lizard
I scale a yellow clay wall
Tail wriggling swiftly
My little heart beats fast
Crunching insects in between my jaw
Legs sticking out of my mouth
Not caring about another’s wellbeing
Drinking droplets of water off the bright green moss
The only thing I care about is living
Small scales lining every inch of my body
Reflecting the warm sun that I bathe in
Oh the luxuries of being a lizard
